Hey y'all, I'm Ashley. Welcome to the space where storytelling meets devotion. As a Christian photographer, my work is rooted in faith and designed to create timeless heartfelt imagery. Let's journey together to tell your story, crafted with purpose & illuminated by His grace.
There’s something undeniably magical about sunrise in Cades Cove. The way the first rays of light touch the frost-covered fields, the stillness of the morning, and the sense of timelessness that surrounds the historic cabins—it all makes for a perfect backdrop to capture love.
Recently, I had the privilege of photographing an engagement session for a sweet couple in this stunning setting. It was a morning we won’t soon forget—freezing cold, but absolutely breathtaking.
The alarm clocks were set early, and as we drove into Cades Cove in the predawn hours, the car’s thermometer read just above freezing. Stepping out into the crisp air, we could see our breath and feel the chill settle in—but the excitement of the session kept us moving.
As the sun began to rise, the frost shimmered across the fields like a blanket of diamonds. Despite the cold, the couple’s energy was contagious. Wrapped in cozy layers and holding each other close, their love brought a warmth to the morning that even the frost couldn’t diminish.
One of the things I love most about Cades Cove is its rich history. The old cabins, weathered and full of character, provided a unique backdrop that added depth and meaning to the photos.
The couple had a special appreciation for these historic spots, so we spent time exploring and incorporating them into the session. Standing by the rustic cabin doors and leaning against split-rail fences, they looked perfectly at home—like they were stepping into a timeless love story.
After capturing moments in the open fields and historic sites, we laced up our boots and hiked to a few of their favorite trails. The trails were quiet, except for the crunch of frost underfoot and the occasional rustle of leaves in the breeze.
The couple had shared many hikes together during their relationship, and this added a deeply personal touch to their session. They held hands as they walked, pausing to soak in the views and laugh about the freezing temperatures. The moments were real and unscripted—exactly how I love to photograph.
As the sun climbed higher, it brought a gentle warmth to the morning, though the frost stubbornly refused to melt. The golden light illuminated the landscape, wrapping the couple in a glow that felt almost ethereal.
By the end of the session, cheeks were rosy (partly from the cold!) and hearts were full. The morning had been a perfect reflection of their love: steady, strong, and full of light.
There’s something uniquely intimate about a sunrise session. The world feels quieter, more peaceful, and there’s a sense of awe as the day begins. For couples who love nature and want photos that feel timeless and romantic, Cades Cove at sunrise is truly unmatched.
This Cades Cove sunrise engagement session was more than just a photoshoot—it was an adventure, a celebration of love, and a chance to witness the beauty of God’s creation in its purest form. Despite the freezing temperatures, the love between this couple radiated warmth throughout the morning.
If you’re dreaming of an engagement session that captures your unique story and love for the outdoors, I’d love to help you bring it to life. Whether it’s Cades Cove at sunrise or another special spot close to your heart, let’s create something unforgettable together.
