Hey y'all, I'm Ashley. Welcome to the space where storytelling meets devotion. As a Christian photographer, my work is rooted in faith and designed to create timeless heartfelt imagery. Let's journey together to tell your story, crafted with purpose & illuminated by His grace.
Some places hold more than just memories—they carry a sense of belonging. A history woven into every creak of the floor and every whisper of light through the windows. That was the feeling that lingered in the air as I stepped into Brianna’s grandparents’ home for our photo session. The house was empty, its walls bare, yet it felt anything but hollow. Brianna’s grandparents’ house has just been sold. The new owners will soon fill these rooms and make new memories, but before that happens we are to preserve family stories with photographs.
Brianna had come prepared. In the center of a vacant room, she placed two deeply meaningful items: her grandfather’s brown wooden chair and her grandmother’s well-worn King James Bible. She ran her fingers over the smooth wood of the chair, as if recalling the countless times she had seen her grandfather sitting there. In the kitchen the worn floor from his feet shuffles still there where he ate his meals at the counter.
As I lifted my camera, Brianna began to share stories. Her voice was soft but filled with emotion. She talked about the handmade sign on the front porch, one her grandfather so proudly crafted with the house numbers attached. I listened as she described childhood Christmas mornings, where the tree once stood in the corner of the now-empty room. Next, she pointed out the spot where she and her sister shared a Jack and Jill closet. The little hallway between rooms where many conversations were had. The window in her room looking out on vast property where she could take in a quiet moment.
With every word, her face lit up. The sorrow of saying goodbye was there, of course, but it was mixed with joy—the joy of having had a place so full of love to call home.
I photographed Brianna as she sat in her grandfather’s chair, the Bible resting on her lap. She closed her eyes for a moment, as if listening for the echoes of the past. The light from the window cast a golden glow, wrapping her in warmth, almost as if the house itself was embracing her one last time.
There was something profoundly beautiful about that session. It was more than just a series of photographs—it was a love letter to the past. A way to honor the legacy of the people who had shaped her. It was a reminder that while walls may be torn down, while doors may close for the final time, the true home lives on in our hearts, carried with us wherever we go.
As Brianna stood up, she took one last look around. Then, with her grandfather’s chair in one hand and her grandmother’s Bible in the other, she stepped out the front door—ready to carry their love with her, always.
The power of a photograph goes beyond just capturing a moment—it can preserve the essence of a place, a memory, and a connection that lasts a lifetime. If you have a special home or cherished possessions tied to your family’s history, I would love to help you capture those memories in a way that honors the legacy of those who shaped your story.
Whether it’s the chair where your grandfather once sat, the worn pages of your grandmother’s Bible, or the space where you grew up, these moments are more than just photographs—they are treasures. A photo session like Brianna’s is a beautiful way to say goodbye, celebrate the past, and carry the love of your family forward, wherever life may take you.
